We do NOT charge for an initial consultation.  At the initial consultation, we discuss the details of your potential case, the legal process(es) involved and answer questions you may have.Where a client proceeds to instruct us (usually in writing) after the initial consultation, an invoice is sent for professional fees. 

In most cases, out-of-pocket expenses are included in our professional fees. Where they are not included in the professional fees, receipted expenses are usually provided often with the Client’s consent obtained.

Our fees are not static. They vary based on the circumstances of each case.

Yes, we allow for instalments under contract. The method or payment calendar is discussed and put into writing.

Yes. Each cause of action as provided for in various laws of states has specified time limits to formally file a lawsuit or claim.  These laws are called the “statute of limitations”. These laws often prevent a valid claim from being considered because it was filed out of time. Here the matter is referred to as ‘statute barred’. That is why it is important to contact us, or any lawyer, as soon as possible for legal counsel.

No. Some instructions by virtue of their nature do not require trial in Court. Such instructions may only require drafting and review of documents, incorporation of companies, Alternative Dispute Resolution, regulatory compliance, legal opinion, etc. Notwithstanding, after proper counselling of clients, we deal with every case in anticipation of trial.

Yes. Free cases are referred to as ‘Pro-bono Matters’ in the legal parlance. The Firm contributes its own quota to nation building and public service by providing free legal services to indigents in the society. The Firm currently partners with other bodies for this purpose and periodically handle these cases where they fall into the category or ruler put in place.
